Hello, it’s so nice to meet you!
I wanted to quickly introduce myself since this is my first blog post! My name is Marie Miao. I’m a wife to the funniest man, Derek, and a mother to our beautiful daughter, Chloe (I know I’m biased). We have a Bichon poodle who runs away from Chloe any chance she gets (I don’t blame her…Chloe likes to tug on her tail out of the blue!)
We love traveling, eating, and coordinating our outfits when we go out. I work part-time as an oncology clinical social worker so I’m passionate about helping the cancer community. As much as I love my work, it can get heavy on my soul, so having fun in my personal life is very important to me…one of the reasons why I’m writing today.
So…why did I start blogging??
There are two reasons:
1. Motherhood & Lifestyle
I had an interesting love-hate relationship when I was pregnant…it wasn’t until I opened up to my friends that the feelings and experiences were quite common, yet, no one really talked about it. I felt the need to openly discuss and share with other mothers so they don’t feel so alone. I’ll be sharing honest motherhood moments as well as tid bits of our family lifestyle.
We love to travel, and having a baby hasn’t stopped us! I’ll be sharing traveling tips, the best kid-friendly spots, and maybe some of our favorite restaurants along the way!
2. Mommy and Me Fashion
I am also the owner and CEO of our small family business, Matching With Chloe or MWC. Matching With Chloe was founded when I became a mother to our daughter, Chloe. I became obsessed with my life-sized doll, wanting to coordinate in mommy and me outfits. When I searched the market, it was tricky to find ones that were comfortable, affordable, and tasteful. That’s when I started thinking about creating my own designs.
Most days, you’ll find me living in yoga pants, tees, flats, and sweatshirts. If I had the choice to wear it everyday, I would! So having that in mind and the lifestyle that most mothers have, I wanted to create a store filled with comfortable and tasteful mommy and me outfits.
With the help of my aunt, Yuki Toshinari, who also happens to be one of my favorite artist, we started designing French-inspired mommy and me outfits.
In addition to modeling our shop’s collection, I’ll be sharing our other favorite brands to shop for tasteful mommy and me outfits.
If you’re here reading this, I’m so grateful that we connected, and I hope you’ll continue to join my journey with my family!
