I often get asked how I started my blog, and how I keep it up. It’s been a lot of work, but also enjoyable. To be transparent, 3 months into my blogging career was when I received my first paid advertisement, and I have been gifted products with and without campaigns, and increased traffic on my blog and followers on Instagram by using the strategies from Pinterest Ninja (listed below). I’ve learned that everyone’s blogging success depends on how much time and consistent effort you put into it, but here are the resources I used that helped me succeed thus far! And so can you!

SITE GROUND: When you start a blog, you’ll need a domain. You can create free ones, or you can claim your own. The reason I decided to pay for my own hosting site is: 1. you get what you pay for (i.e. lack of customer service and slow uploads) 2. If you don’t own your own hosting site, the hosting site can remove your hard earned work at anytime. This is because you don’t technically own your content.
I initially started out with Blue Host, but since I have multiple domains that I utilize, Site Ground was much more affordable and easier to use. On top of that, Site Ground’s customer service is quick and fast to fix your issues. This was key since I’m technologically challenged!
If you are serious about blogging, and see a future with your business growing, I highly recommend paying for your OWN web host. Can you imagine a years worth of work just gone over night?! Site Ground’s affiliate payout percentage is also very generous so think about the extra income you can earn to cover the cost of your payment! Pinterest has been a big factor to growing my businesses, not just for blogging, but for my jewelry and clothing shop too! I had never used Pinterest as a business account and I knew I needed to master it before I fiddled around too much. I came across this e-book and it was worth every penny…I almost think she under charges. It provides you with 100+ pages of step by step on how to be successful at using Pinterest and your blog. The author has a marketing background so she even teaches you the best way to market your blog articles, images, and shares keywords. If you’re interested in learning more about Pinterest Ninja, check it out! You won’t regret it!
Email marketing provides the highest conversion rates, and is the best way to update your followers and stay engaged with them. I initially started using AWeber, but it was very hard to use. I decided to switch with the recommendation from a fellow blogger, and am so glad I did! It is so much more user friendly, and it even allows you to tag categories so you can send specific emails depending on what your audience is interested in! I’m not tech savvy so anything to make my life easier, I’m in! If you’re interested in learning more, click on the banner or here!
